Camberwell Shark takeover tomorrow!

We hope we've ordered enough beer...

It's Camberwell Shark takeover eve and we are excited and nervous in equal measure. Will people turn up? Will we run out of beer? Will the beer taste any good?

The cask beer arrived earlier this week. Bit of a panic when we realised last week that the Copper Tap didn't have enough extractors but one next day delivery later we were sorted. The beer is now conditioned and should be good to go. We'll be doing a line clean this afternoon and hoping the beer will be in top condition when it's poured into your pint glasses on Saturday.

On cask we have Peckham Pale from Brick, Upton IPA and Red Ale from Brockley and Sunray Pale Ale from Canopy. We are also honoured to be hosting the launch of a new dark mild from Common Rioters, an ideal beer for this time of year.

On keg we have Apogee Stout and Baller IPA from Gipsy Hill, Nico Lager from Orbit and a Strawberry and Cucumber Sour from Canopy. Non-alcoholic bottled beer is available from Leyton's Nirvana, Gigglejuice cider from Duckchicken and gin from Dodd's, Jensens and Little Bird. The Copper Tap's usual selection of wine, prosecco and soft drinks will be available.

Everything was running fairly smoothly until we received an email yesterday from the pizza resturant who were providing a van for the weekend. The pizza chef had absconded to Italy apparently. Cue panicked emails to any pizza vans/market stalls we could find. Despite two promising leads which almost worked out, we've failed unsurprisingly to find a replacement at this short notice. We'll work out a plan B later today - given there are no food options that close by to the pub, we are keen that people are able to eat (so they can stay and drink more beer obviously).

To entice people in we'll be offering 10% discount on cask beer to CAMRA members all weekend and on the Saturday, to anyone wearing Dulwich Hamlet colours. If you squinted you may have spotted us on the LED hoardings at Champion Hill last Friday. I think I spent more of the match watching the hoardings than the actual game, trying and failing miserably to get a decent photo of one of our sporadic appearances. Dodds at least managed this effort.

We're not aware of anyone actually noticing it apart from Dave, who was looking out for it on the telly. But given the club kindly let us have the advert for free, well worth it to claim we've been on primetime BBC2.

Anyway, we've got lines to clean and a quiz to write (7pm ko on Sunday if you're interested). Hopefully see you over the weekend, cheers!
