Camberwell Shark @ The Copper Tap

We're taking over a pub for a weekend...

The Camberwell Shark is open for business! Well, for one weekend at least. We are taking over the Copper Tap on Peckham High Street on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November. We'll be running it as if it was our micropub. Which means local beer, and lots of it.

How did this come about?

A few days after we'd announced that Zuki's was no more, we received a message on Twitter. Gary, who runs the Copper Tap (where we ended up on our recent outing) and the Joiners Arms, wanted to discuss some ideas with us. Gary’s idea for us to take over the Copper Tap for a weekend, what would be effectively a live trial of our micropub, sounded ideal.

How will it work?

We will takeover the beer taps and provide a plentiful supply of cask and keg beer. In line with our business model to work with and support small local businesses wherever possible, we’ll be providing beer from independent local breweries. We will also be stocking local cider and gin. The four of us will be behind the bar throughout the weekend. And we will be decorating the pub to reflect how we see the Camberwell Shark looking.

What next?

We'll post updates on the beers and breweries to expect in the coming weeks. There’s plenty more to come. But the focus however, like any good micropub, will be beer and conversation.

There's lots for us to do in the next few weeks. But the evergreen project manager that he is, Dave has plenty of paper with which to keep us in check.

We look forward to seeing lots of you down there, cheers!
